It's cuts well, and it's accurate. The only issue I have is that it's so light-weight that you need to hold down the base with your left hand while you're lifting the blade with your right or else the whole base will lift up. Minor issue. Still a great cutter.

I was really hesitant to buy one of these since there were does not cut a straight line reviews on every single one I looked at... like a lot of them but I went ahead and trusted the positive reviews and bought this one lo and behold it does in fact cut a crisp straight line when the paper is completely flush to the top or when you use the guide lines. The safety lock also works very well and is simple to use the only assembly required was putting the handle for the blade on and that was easy goes on smooth and snaps right in without hardly any effort. It's super light weight but doesn't feel flimsy and the blade is sharp no fraying or tearing of the paper super happy with my purchase.

I have used paper cutters while in High School and College and had a more modern type that I can no longer find and use. This is by far the best paper cutter I have ever used and well worth getting and worth the money as well.

I was initially hesitant to buy this cutter because of all the reviews saying it was inaccurate- however I managed to get it at a heavily discounted price (down to around 20 bucks!) and didn't initially need it for super detailed work, so I decided to give it a try!The green bar is there for your safety so your fingers don't get too close to the blade- many people have said it was this piece that made it difficult to use because it made it hard to see where you are cutting, but if you instead try to measure to the edge of the silver metal area beyond the green bar, that's where the blade hits. As long as you measure to that you get fairly accurate cuts. You should probably position yourself so you're looking at it from the top down to get the best cut, you won't be as accurate sitting rather than standing. It's also so lightweight that you're probably better off standing anyways.I'm looking forward to using this to trim my zines!
