Good stuff. Tasty for what it is. Took on a camping trip it is easy to prepare and does not take up a ton of room. Just add water and enjoy.

This product is great!The entire bucket is very light and easy to carry. It's difficult to open the first couple times because of how stiff the plastic is, but it gets easier.The bags themselves are sturdy and resealable, and are light on calories, so even if you don't have someone to split the food with or any way to store it, it's not too much to eat by yourself.The colors of the foods are vibrant and the smell is very good even before adding water.The flavor is very good for all of the dishes, and if you want to add more spices, they take on flavor easily.I would recommend adding hot water to the granola and blueberries unstead of cold; it makes the granola softer and more like oatmealWhat also surprised me was how long these pouches are set to last; the expiration date is thirty years away! (they'll all be eaten well before then though)As for the pic- that is the beef stew, before adding water. I was going to take a picture after preparing it, but I ate it all before remembering I was going to photograph it

The whole family loves these meals... Dehydrating your own meals is a pain and time consuming. So yes these are pricey, yet not as pricey as some others. But come on.... It's pretty clear these are two serving pouches. Maybe the shammers should read and understand what they are buying. When I backpack I need fuel! I'm only 150 lbs and I would eat the older pouches that were 2.5 servings in one sitting. I wish I could still get those ones! 2 servings are easily consumed if you are expanding energy on the trail... Or if you eat very little cook a bag for two people, or remove before coming and save in a ziplock.These are my hiking staple! Always keep some on hand cause you never know.It's an all in one meal in a pouch. Can't get more convenient, or easy at the end of a long day. Pour in hot water and before camp is set you have dinner. And easy to pack out.

Haven't ordered this bucket specifically, but have used this product enough to leave a review, which I am doing because of the other ridiculous 1 star reviews I'm seeing on here. One said they taste like a dogs butt, I am curious as to why that individual was chowing down on their dog's butt to know that for a comparison . I can tell you that these are pretty good, I haven't had every variety, but enough to tell you that Mountain House does make a quality product. Keep in mind that this is freeze-dried food, not gourmet meals in a pouch. As for those that are complaining that they thought they were getting 24 packages, when it clearly says 24 servings equals 12 packages, that's your own fault for not reading the description, your ignorance is not the company's fault and doesn't warrant a bad review.Apply common sense and understand what you are buying and you will be satisfied with the purchase.

Always great value and quality product. I'm loyal mtnhse customer. These meals supported me in my 2017 through hike of Appalachian Trail and countless other excursions. They aint cheap but you get what you pay for.

Just add water! Hot water will taste better, but your emergency bottle water will do in a pinch! Some bags are 2 servings, but it's resealable. And it's light!This is the second bucket I've bought, and even the wife approves of the flavor.

tried the chicken and fried rice. My wife and i agree we think it is very good tasting and will be buying a lot more. we purchased the classic bucket and intend to try everything in it for taste before buying in bulk. as of now with the taste and texture not to mention the ease of making each pouch we have already ordered lots more. if you are trying to compare this to homemade then you need to add your own seasoning to taste and it would be close.

Plan ahead to have water.Did I mention there are 24 meals in only 12 pouches?

Sometimes, when we camp, we like to travel light. These come in handy when we are trying to keep our packing to a minimum. Mountain House is our favorite, for consistently providing good food in a variety of flavors. Just heat some water, grab a long spoon, and dig in. Clean up is simple, nothing to it. I've noticed that recently their foods have fewer artificial ingredients and preservatives than before, and I haven't noticed a taste difference. Way to go in making a good product even better!!

OutstandingHere in Houston with no power and no water we lived on the adventure bucket for 3 days.We had a stored water supply and loved how little water it takes to feed 2 people.

The flavor of the meals was really good. More importantly the texture was amazingly accurate. I had to use these during a winter storm extended power outage using charcoal to heat the water. I couldn't get a full boil, but doubling the time with warm water still produced a delicious result.Having a reliable food source in a time of emergency is well worth the price. Having a reliable food source that tastes good, is convenient, and easy brings a source of comfort that worth more in value than the price. This is a must have for camping or a basic level of household preparedness.
