Good if your a newbie but be cautious if the calcium test kit. It can be WAY wrong. I had 2 of these kits. One was reading right where I expected the other was showing off the chart calcium levels. Tested with my Hanna calcium tester and tank levels were spot on. If serious about reefing save the headache and just spend the money on Hanna testers. Yes it may seem like a steep price BUT not compared to the cost of replacing coral after coral due to a bad test kittrust meI held off for years and spend countless $$$ because I trusted this kit.

I have used these test kits with good results in the past. This one is a dud, everything tested zero right through cycling. Useless.

Received broken test tubes an sliced my fingers open trying to pull it out of the case, luckily I had one not broken so it's not useless

It was time to get a new kit with fresh chemicals. Got the new kit: the test tubes are still thin-walled with tight fitting caps. You are instructed to cap and uncap the test tubes often during testing. These thin walled tubes are at significant risk of breaking (and driving shards of glass into your flesh). They should spend a few pennies more on better/safer/thicker test tubes.

I'm a first time aquarium owner and worried that I would struggle to test, read, and understand my water parameters. The kit comes with a great instruction booklet that was easy to understand. The kit itself is easy to use, the amount of drops you need is on the bottle. The instructions also let you know what each test means and the amounts you want, which I found helpful as a beginner. I do wish it came with one more test tube, as it tests 5 parameters but only comes with 4. Just a heads up that this kit doesn't test for chlorine or chloramines, if that's something you want to test for.

It's a must have for any aquarium but mine came with a faded color chart and comparing the colors for an accurate read is a PAIN IN THE A because of this
