I'm impressed with this product. I had to use a putty knife to get it where I wanted it in a few places. After the fire curing it's solid and holding nice.

Pellet stove was emitting a little smoke from exhaust pipe junctions. Followed the instructions and achieved a noticable improvement.

I'm always trying to improve the drafting of my wood furnace. I used this to seal up seams in the stovepipe on it's way to the chimney.I've bought a product like this before and after it set it was brittle and had no adhesion. With this Rutland product, there does seem to be very good adhesion. I stays in place well.

Nowhere in the product description does it state indoor only. Now that I've ordered it and it's being delivered today, I've got to send it back. Rutland needs to be up front about it.

Does not fix fire brick, contrary to what it says. I had a cracked firebrick and it did not bond the crack.

I had a fire brick that needed to be replaced and I used this to secure the firebrick and patch up some hairline cracks. I followed the curing instructions and it has worked out perfectly thus far after a few dozen hot fires.

One year after application the caulked areas of my wood stove still look good, prepping the surface is most important.

A problem with Komodo or similar brands of Clay ovens is that the lid is too heavy and constant shock of closing it eventually ends up cracking the lid.In my case I noticed hairline cracks when smoke started to seep out of them so I used Rutland black to seal them up and no problem since. That was only a month ago though, so lets wait and see how it hangs in there.

The ceramic log in our fireplace broke during one of little Calif. earthquakes. With two pieces I could not get the log to sit properly on the small edge that holds it. After looking around for a glue type to put the two pieces back together I found this cement that can take high heat. I tried to put the two pieces together as was shown on the tube, but this did not work. It mentioned to let it sit half an hour, which just fell apart. After looking on their website, I finally put the cement on the two pieces of ceramic log and tied together. Leaving this for 24 hrs. until it set. I then put it in my oven and set it for 500 degrees to heat set the cement. I am very happy that this worked and now the log can be used as one piece. It was not that easy to do and the directions were not very good. Also, when I went to research the product after receiving it, I saw the price had been reduced, which was annoying. Over all it worked, soI am giving 4 stars. I wish I had found a glue or epoxy to use, it would have been easier. The three stars are for it being hard to use, having poor directions, and the reduced price the day after I purchased it.

Works pretty well. Product is looser / runnier than I expected, making some vertical and inverted seams difficult to pack / fill, but once it starts to set it is easier to work with, and seems to work very well otherwise.

Used to seal the seams of my wood stove pipe just for some added peace of mind. Easy to put on, dries to touch pretty quick, and works well

Easy to use. Once applied used a puddy blade to smooth and fill cracks. Did final cure at about 275'F since my heat gun could not go to 500'F. However, fireplace won't be used for another month so I'm hoping for full cure by than.

I needed to glue a ceramic fire board to 1/4 inch sheet metal. It took the entire tube (much smaller than regular sealant tubes) but after 12 hours (overnight) it was stuck solid. The product came out of the tube thick and as it should. No issues with dripping or the product not being mixed. The project took less than 5 minutes and now, I have a secure top on my pizza oven that will hold and reflect the heat.
