I have been putting up dill pickles for over 60 years. It is a family tradition starting from my Grandmother. I have tried a variety of other brands of pickling spices. Some good, some less than good. McCormick Culinary Pickling Spice's flavor is the closest to what our family's home made pickling spice tastes like, and is a lot easier than finding all the ingrediencies and and measuring them out. I plan on continuing using this MaCormick pickling spice in the future.

That recipe had been written down and lost for years after Gramma Rita passed. Finally one of the sibs found it in an old cookbook. Recipe called for "assorted spices". No one knew what they were until it was put into eBay and a 1950's McCormick box showed up that was called assorted spices. The sibs even recognized the box. Using our home grown tomatoes we now have many jars from the once lost recipe. Family will be so excited for holiday cooking and reliving memories
