The sanding on these are great, no knots in the wood, hold a stain well. These are also quite sturdy. I use them for making macrame to hold things like larger plant pots and none have bowed or snapped over the last few months.

I have these strange jade plants that tend to lean as if they are a hanging plant. These dowels are helping to train the stems to stand straight. They are perfect.
