As usual coleman lanterns are good, but the company has elected to discontinue selling replacement parts. I assume aftermarket resellers like coghlans will take this up eventually, but in the interim, if your generator goes bad, you're going to have to buy a new lantern or source new old stock from someplace. This will become harder as time passes.

The only thing I don't like about this lantern is the cost of fuel to run it. While much cheaper than propane White gas is still expensive, unleaded fuel works but also requires more maintenace so I have been told. But I do like having the ability to use unleaded if it is needed. I have some 288 lanterns that I bought back in the 1990's (they still work) and this thing is much brighter. My camping group is growing in size and needed more lanterns.

Bought for my dad on his bday he loves it. He looked like a little kid happy to open his gift . He uses it every night . He's always outside . he takes it to the ranch in MX since there's no power over there

Loads of light, easy to start and I really like the adjustable brightness.

Used these for years; last one finally burned out so I got this one for my kid. Chose the duel fuel model, those are getting harder to find but ina pinch they burn almost anything so you're not out of light when your cute little over priced propane bottles wear out. Not sure why the industry is moving towards those propane bottles, seems like a waste of money to buy those all the time, but I'm sure it makes Coleman a lot of money selling them. You can burn unleaded gas in these at about $2 a gallon instead of the coleman fuel that's like $10 a gallon.
