This is a great lantern. Very versatile and bright. My only complaints are the metal handle should be much bigger as this thing is pretty heavy when loaded up with batteries. And I also wish you could turn off or adjust the brightness of the panels while they are attached to the base.

I bought a 4 panel version. Took it on 2 camping trips. Love the removable lights. Not the brightest light I've used but is more than enough to keep a small area well lit. With using D batteries in its base. it's very heavy so needs a strong support to be hung up. The panels are a bit finicky to reattach and if this gets dropped or knocked over, the panels tend to fall off.Yes I dropped it.Yes it still works just fine.Great concept for a camp light but could use a weight reduction and revise in design.

Especially like that I can charge my phone with it. Not as bright as my previous coleman, but is okay.

This is a great light. We've used it for power outages, and it will light up the whole living room, and also allow someone to take a segment to go into another room when needed. We've also used it for outdoor dining in the evening, and with the light placed in the center of the table, everyone could see without any trouble at all. It is a great light for all sorts of purposes. The small light segments give off quite a bit of light alone, and the main unit gives off a lot of light without being blinding.Just be prepared for the battery use. It requires I believe 8 D batteries plus a slew of AA's for the smaller lights. But considering the setup and the amount of light it puts out, it is understandable. But you may want to order batteries in bulk along with the light.

Great lights! The detachable sides are very nice when having to go to the bathroom or look for the smores. Took to yellowstone and went into the backwoods. Worked great!

This is a good lantern the only problem is you're using D batteries to charge the AAA batteries in the snap off lights. I remove the AAA batteries from the lights and just charge them with my battery charger. This seems to work pretty well and doesn't drain the D batteries as much

We have a larger model than this one and love it. We used it during the ice storm (no power for 5 days). After that, we decided to get another one. Panels Charge on base and snap off to take panel with you.

I bought it because a friend of mine had the bigger one and used for camping. Was excellent. I don't have a generator and live in the mountains so I purchased the medium size. Compact. Has compartments you can remove so can be more portable if needed for other rooms. It uses a lot of batteries and was hard for me to put them in. My son was able to put them in easy _x000D_. They are expensive also. Kinda disappointed in how much light it put out. I purchased another type for less that puts out more light.

The lantern is great, well thoughtout and very versatile. but, it requires 8 D batteries which won't last long if you're running the lantern and charging devices off of it. Wish they would provide a rechargeable Li-Ion pack for this to reduce the battery waste.

Was a gift for sister's family. Hopefully they'll use it during their summertime camping trips. The removable lanterns should be helpful for my young niece to use, while the base stays put. Minus 1 star because one magnet was not properly attached and will have to be glued back on.

They don't give you the big D Cell batteries you need with this one but you do get the smaller AA rechargeable batteries included in the removable side panels. I like carrying it around as I go up and down dark stairwells. The USB plug-in phone charger works too. Overall, if you have a bunch of rechargeable D cell batteries sitting around (as I did) this lantern is a good way to get some use out of them. The side panels can come off pretty easily if you are running through the forest trying to escape wolves and bears in the dead of night, i.e. bumping the lantern around. So, I find that wrapping it in Saran Wrap while I am carrying it outdoors as a single unit helps... Not because the panels just fly off willy-nilly but rather because the fear of the panels flying off willy-nilly makes me overly cautious as I carry the lantern if I don't have it saran wrapped.
