All three pickups measured at 52mm, contrary to them supposedly being staggered. The ohm measurements were off as well: 5.5k, 6.7k, 5.7k.And finally, they didn't mount centered in a couple pickguards I had, all three rubbing against one edge pretty heavily- all without a cover.

These pickups are great, they are easy to install if you have some experience with soldering, the pole spacing is off though I got official fender pickup covers and they did not fit over them, I would buy these again if I have another project.

So I installed these in an IYV Mustang Copy. The originals were very harsh sounding. So I figured I would try these for 20 bucks. These smoothened the tone out and the harshness went away. So far I am pretty happy with these. It's only a $130 guitar so putting a few dollars in it doesn't seem so bad.

Bought for a Squire Affinity but ended up putting them in a very old parts caster and have gigged with it. A very decent product for an amazing price. (Need another set for the Squire)

Great value for the tiny amount they cost. I put them in a Squier Bullet Strat, and they're a big improvement over the stock ceramics. They excell at chime if you're looking for that, they don't have much fatness in the low mids and bass. I roll my tone knobs down to about 4 or 5 and they're more to my liking. I might try a .1uf cap instead of the .047 one I have to see if that tames the brightness better for me. They're pretty hot as well. For the pennys paid, it's hard to complain too much.

Found a Starcaster strat to use as a modding platform and used these pickups. Couldn't exactly see breaking the bank on a $35 thrift store find by using Duncans, Fralins, etc. Those are excellent pickups, just too expensive for this kind of build. I ran across a video on You Tube by Darrell Braun who compared the least expensive Alnico pickups (these) vs the most expensive Seymour Duncans ($1000). All I can say is watch the video with a good set of headphones on. Some reviewers complain about the length of wiring, but there is just enough wire and my guitar didn't have a swimming pool route; they gotta cut cost somewhere. I did not get covers with mine as some have reported, but when you order covers make sure you get the ones for 48, 50, 52 mm pickups otherwise you'll be reordering. These are much better than the stock ceramics I replaced. My guitar player buddy can't believe they're not $200 pickups.

I was shocked at how great these sound. I started out building a parts guitar with the cheapest parts I could find as a fun project. When I fired up the guitar I was amazed. I have another strat with custom shop pickups in it and I'm thinking about selling those to put another set of these in and pocket the change.

For the price I wasn't expecting much, but these so far have impressed me, and will probably be staying on my strat for awhile. One thing to note, my neck pickup was wound with blue copper, which I find cool, and if all 3 were done with the blue copper I would have loved that, but if that's not your thing, it's something to possibly be aware of.

Took a chance on these after not being impressed with some somewhat.. gimmicky pickups for my strat that I wasn't a big fan f (low output, muddy sounding to my ears.) These had short leads, so i extended them since i had the soldering iron out anyway. turns out they were already perfect length for my strat actually lol. they are marked! 52-50-48, and the middle pickup is a different color wire and reverse wired for hum-canceling. marked as clearly as could be hoped! the leads are not exposed and super delicate like some vintage style pickups you'll find. i've definitely nicked and ruined a few single coils this way.. I love how the cheap ones are somehow a lot more durable that way.the screws and springs fit just fine in both the pickups and my pickguard. i had to buy my own covers for these obviously because the clear is just a little too funky .. funny how the covers cost $9.99 and the pickups $16!anyway, most importantly the sound right? no problems here. they ARE hot, and i was worried about them being too hot actually. i got 8.8K, 8.2 and 7.8K in my meter. i've had overwound super-hot single coils before and they can sound really muddy (although loud), and i was hoping that wouldn't be the case here.nope, they are hot but nice and clear.. good bite. everyone has their own silly ways of describing guitar tone, but to me a good alnico pickup has clarity but bite, will growl a bit, whereas ceramic ones tend to be cleaner and pluckier. if you want something real bluesy or jazzy, go for low output ceramic strat pickups, forget how cheap they were and the negative connotation and you'll be totally happy. same with these. if you want some clear, loud, biting strat pickups, can't go wrong here. clearly i wouldn't be writing this review if i was a firm believer in high-end boutique pickups., but i will say i've played a few in my day, and after spending $75 or so for a strat pickup when i was a kid out of curiosity, i kind of learned that there's a lot of marketing and voodoo involved in pickups in general. i still have that Lindy Frailin in my other strat, and it sounds just fine and no intention of swapping it out.. but i doubt anyone could tell the difference between that and these.

They are inexpensive, and a massive upgrade from the stock ceramic pickups. You will need purchase covers 48,50,52mm respectively, choose to do a tone bender kits to sound like a tele. Really impressed for $16... I would have no qualms playing this setup on stage.

Two of these pickups are much hotter than the description states. It says they're 5.5k, 5.6k and 5.6k.I measured all mine and here's what I found:48mm neck: 8.05k ohms50mm middle: 5.24k ohms52mm bridge: 8.66k ohmsThose are strange reading for a Strat single coil.

Very nice tone. Super low price. No covers. My old ones fit. Magnet spacing is different on each pickup so check your covers before buying. Bought my second set.

I have been looking for a lower output Alnico Stratocaster pickup for a Nile Rodgers tribute build I am working on. These fill the bill nicely. Leads are a little shorter than I would have liked. Bobbins are clear which is kinda cool, but wasted on my build as they will be under covers. Also, check the pole spacing as not all covers will fit!

I bought these to experiment with wiring single coil pickups in series, parallel and single coil, and to compare those tones to a humbucker in series, parallel and split. I bought 2 sets so that I can have 2 rwrp middle pickups to pair with the neck and bridge pickups and have them be hum cancelling and in phase. As single coils in a typical 3 pickup strat style configuration they sound AMAZING. They measured about 8-9 kohm resistance, which is much higher than the 5.5k as advertised. When I put them side by side like a typical humbucker and wired them in parallel they sounded like a nice humbucker like I was looking for. When wired in series they lose a lot of treble, especially in the neck position, but I actually like that. It's like turning the tone knob down and gives a nice tone for blues or jazz. I might even take the tone knob out of the guitar and instead use 2 three way mini switches wired for series, split and parallel. Great pickups and a great value. Would buy again.
