I got into fragrances first many years ago. I'd like to say around middle school. I used Axe, moved to Old Spice, but wanted a fragrance for special occasions. Something that wasn't a body spray. So I turned to my favorite fashion brand, Hollister. A year or two later I started using Hollister fragrances over body sprays. A few years after that I bought a BUNCH of samples of designer fragrances. I'll spare you the rest of the story and just say out of that large bunch, one really really stood out to me as my favorite. Versace Eros.Eros became my new go to. But honestly it never really beat out this one Hollister cologne I had that I used specifically for date nights. I also quickly felt that Eros was really my vibe for work either. But for hanging out with friends, just going out, etc, it was fine.I learned about Eros Flame fairly recently. What I like about my Hollister date night fragrance is that it is spicy with a ton of sweetness to it without being overpowering. So when I heard that Flame was a spicer more lowkey version of the sweet-bomb that is Eros, I got excited.I will admit, the price is eh for my wallet. (Broke college student here). But as someone who also owns and loves Eros, I'd say it's worth it. It is similar enough to Eros that is has the qualities I love, but it different enough that I, and even the people I see on a regular basis, can tell the difference. I have already received a few different compliments when wearing Eros Flame. So did Flame beat my Hollister date night fragrance king? No. No it did not. My Hollister fragrance manages to be spicy, sweet and just super smooth. Flame is sweet like Eros, but not as sweet, more spicy, and a tad bit complicated. None of this is a bad thing. I just prefer my Hollister cologne for date night. So where would Flame be good? Honestly, everywhere Eros would be good for (except for maybe the club, but I don't go to clubs so I wouldn't for sure know that) plus work. At least my work anyways. Flame is definitely more dialed down than Eros. It's less in your face and more like a subtle nod. Eros would be the smell in the cartoon that the cartoon character would smell, wheeze and drop dead (this isn't a bad thing, I'm just trying to paint a picture of strength here). Flame would be the hot pie in the windowsill that the cartoon character would float towards in absolute bliss. It's still a strong smell, just less in your face about it.Projection was good. About 1-2 feet for 1-2 hours. Then a solid 6in-1ft for about 4 hours. Then it dropped to a skin scent. Lasted me all day multiple days. When I got home to shower, a few spots I really couldn't smell it at all anymore. My clothes still subtly smell like Flame days later but it's honestly difficult to even for sure say that is Flame. So, in other words, it'd be easy to cover up with another scent.Alright, to summarize; I'd say Flame is a bit more versatile than Eros. Different enough to be worth picking up if you already have Eros. Could definitely work as a date night fragrance, work fragrance, every day work horse, etc... I would say if you're really on the fence, try catching it on sale and start with a smaller bottle. I've heard you can find Flame in store sometimes on discount. If you really don't like it, this is definitely one of those fragrances that any guy in your life would probably be happy to have. If it's a younger guy, they might even be willing to buy it off of you
