No where near 2000 L. This lantern is nicely made but for light output is about the same as my two other lanterns which are rated at 400L. Since the globe is removable, I was able to line its backside with aluminum foil, trying to improve light output. Doing this helped some. I wanted this light to play dominos or cards under while camping. It takes more light than this lantern can muster. I also removed the globe completely and hung lantern upside down.My Northstar propane lantern is rated at 1500L, it will put out the light needed.
