Like other reviewers have mentioned, this hat does not come waxed. That's a bit misleading I think.I purchased canvas wax separately and used it on the hat. The photos are all after applying the wax. The fit of the hat is great, I like the appearance, and don't mind having had to wax it myself.

The manufacturer photo failed to show the true color of the barb wire design. It is solid blackI purchased as a gift. Not sure how the design will go over. Makes no sense. It may get returned. As for the million other questions no one can answer about the band..i have a photo. It's nice. Velcro and adjustable. Hat is nice overall.
