I am using these to cut left over metal roofing trim pieces to cap other trim that the re-roofing job didn't cover. I already had a couple other brands of similar cutters, but noticed the ones the roofer was using seemed to work better. I looked at a pair and wrote down the brand name. Yes, these absolutely do cut better than the other brands I have. The biggest difference seems to be the small serrations on the edges of the cutters. These grab and cut without having to constantly push them forward while squeezing. Making clean straight cuts is much easier and less likely to leave the short sharp spikes along the cut. The latch on these new ones must be a recent upgrade. I never noticed a problem with the simpler latch my other cutters have, so this new design must be intended to make it easier to use with one hand. I have tried unlatching and latching one-handed and decided it's a feature I never missed and don't need. This is also the first time I have owned left and right turn cutters. It is definitely better to have both pairs.

I needed new snips for awhile. These were on sale, but that's not the reason I bought these. I have two other Wiss snips that are older than most of you. I got them from my Gramps years ago. These new snips are identical to the old ones I have, but with handles and that new tool shine and smell . I used them to install some HVAC ductwork. Two days of cutting and I swear I was cutting butter. Clean burrless edges. Sharp edges, so beware. I wish I would have purchased these years ago. Mine were $11 each. What a deal!

These are a contractor's tool and made for professionals. That said, it takes a learning curve to get really skilled with them, but they are life savers if you plan wrap trim with vinyl coated aluminum. Truthfully, I don't have the knowledge nor skills to rate the quality of these tools, but they certainly did the job for me.

Very sturdy snips... I was unable to use them due to arthritis in my hands. It takes considerable strength to cut with them. I'll probably gift them to a contractor so they don't get wasted. I like the fact that you can lock them closed when not in use, and they're color coded for direction of cut. Nice product...
