A very good weight for a training ball. Not too heavy as to injure the shoulder, elbow or wrist shooting, or too heavy and throw off shot mechanics/timing/rhythm. It is perfect for game-speed dribbling practice, and very helpful for extending range. I have 3lb and a 6lb balls, and this is my preferred ball because it is light enough to be versatile. A typical indoor ball is 600-640 grams, while this is 908 grams (454 grams per pound.) Also, being a rubber ball, it's durable outdoors (no lumps at all so far that reviewers a number of years ago experienced and wrote about.)
