I bought this for my countertop dishwasher. The threads were worn on the back where I screw on the hose for the pump. My husband only had a Tap Die for steel and I needed one for plastic. It was very easy to use and I would highly recommend.

I use a grinder to make the end of PVC pipe angled first. Then hold the rubber wrapped pipe with a vise to make the thread. It is difficult but it works. I tried with 3/4 pipes only. It was impossible to thread schedule 40, which is thinner, using this tool. I used schedule 80 for segments that needed threading. I was glad this simple tool was available and worked.

A sprinkler head was run over and the threads got compressed. I was not able to screw a new head on.I used the 1/2 die and it worked great; I did not have to dig up my whole lawn to replace the pipe.

I ordered it yesterday and it arrived at noon today. I tried to use it on 3/4 in PVC pipe and it worked so well. The only thing you need to consider is how you can hold tightly with the pipe while cutting the thread. You may use wetted gloves, ask someone to hold it tight for you, or use a tool to tighten the pipe.

It worked better than i expected. I didnt expect much out of it with it being a plastic handle. I found that it worked best by heating the pvc up before using, it cuts better that way. I used it on 1 in sch 80 pvc and just heated it up a bit to make it cut easier. It worked well.

It did exactly what I needed it to. Put threads on a piece of PVC. Is it a sturdy professional tool? No. Will it put threads on a piece of PVC pipe at a reasonable cost? Yes.
