This measuring cup for shortening makes baking so much easier. It is difficult to pack Crisco or similar shortenings in a standard, open-top measuring cup and then scrape it all out into a mixing bowl without leaving some behind. The push-up method of clearing everything out that this cup uses lets the baker know that all is in the batter where it belongs. Additionally, it makes clean-up easier. This is only the third or fourth cup like this that I've owned over many years baking, so it is well worth the cost.

I like to use this to dispense the just right amount of batter to my waffle maker so that it fills it with enough to make a perfect waffle without overflowing, it took a few tries to arrive at the proper setting for that perfect waffle and then I marked the level with a magic marker and small etched line for repeatability, the measuring cup is also easy to rinse clean after use.

I haven't used it yet but bought this one because it is small, has the ability to be used for liquids or solids. One item, multiple uses--that's my style.

I had a glass, Pyrex style, measuring cup for years.. and used it for everything. Liquids, dry goods, everything! But a lot of people don’t realize that a dry cup of flour is actually less than a liquid cup. This measuring cup visibly shows you the difference between dry and wet products! I love the simple design and the fact it’s easy to take apart and clean. I am gentle on the cleaning and not scrubbing hard on the surface to remove any markings and don’t see an issue with fading. This is a new product in our kitchen and it has been used multiple times already, we reach for this more than our glass measuring cup!
