I used this on an aluminum fuel tank of a semi truck. There was a vertical crack in the end wall of the tank. I cleaned the surface and applied this sealer. The fuel seepage stopped and the crack didn't spread. I drove the truck for years afterwards and never had to redo that repair.

On the seller's description it absolutely tells you that the product will work on plastic tanks. But when you receive the product it says only metal tanks. make sure you are buying it for metal gas tanks.

Had a bunch of holes in the gas tank of a motorcycle I got out of auction, someone had let about 50 water into the tank and let it sit for 3 years.Slapped this stuff on and it held great while I went crazy relining the tank with a three step program and things have continued to hold well since.Definitely buy a couple more than you think you will need, stuff hardens fast once you mix the reactants.

Ford Focus. Skid plate mount onto plastic fuel tank. Crack. Anything above 1/3 ended up on the pavement. The sealant mix alone covered the crack and stopped the leak. For $13.

The package does state not intended for plastic tanks. However I used it anyway.Removed the tank cleaned and sanded down as instructions advised.Let sit for 24 hours. Plenty cure time, probably really ready after 4 hours. No leaks!!!!

Even though the package says not to use it on plastic, I used it on a plastic tank on a John Deere riding mower. It adheres well. So far it doesn't leak. I will edit this post if the repair fails. Repair is 2 days old June 9, 2022. So far so good.

Could not use! Nowhere in the product info did it state that this product could not be used on a plastic tank. That information should be at the top of the product info as most fuel and oil reservoir tanks today are made of plastic.

It didn't get a good bond to aluminum. May work well on plastic or metal, but doesn't get a good bond to aluminum. And yes i cleaned it and roughed or up good with sand paper.

The instructions stated this epoxy would start to harden within five minutes. it actually hardened in less than 2 minutes so I was unable to apply the whole product so the application was a failure and a waste of money

applied on a pin hole on my bike tank. let it cure for 2 days till it was rock solid, fill the tank and in less than 12hrs the gas soften the product and bubbled its way thru the product. not worth it, not as promised.
