[Something Most Sane People will Never Need.]As for the rest of use, condolences. It's ok.Worked for me.Be advised; There is no pinout information on the bag, in the bag, on the shell, etc.No big deal.Just ring out the leads with a continuity meter. You have no continuity meter - you say. Then use the Force. One can peer into the back shell with a flash light - and, make a semi-educated guess.Once I had the pinout established, I was faced with deciding which colored wire should go in to which hole.Sounds simple enough.Should have been simple enough. The schematic drawing I had to go by was logically impossible to comply with.Once again, Use the Force - Luke. The bag should have included a socket extraction tool.Fortunately, I had one.Three attempts later - and, I still had issues.By not following the manufacturer's instructions. And, by following established RS232 conventions, I managed to get it to work.Summary:It is quite useful. If you get it right the first time, you won't need an extraction tool.I'd recommend it.Expect to put in more time and effort than expected.
