Seriously if you are debating on buying the Thera-band Flexbar and you have tennis elbow, stop thinking and just add it to your cart. For less than $20 you cannot go wrong.I bought the red, green, and blue bars because I had no idea which one to start on. I tried the red bar out of the box and although it felt too easy to use, I did notice improvement in stretching out my tricep/elbow area. After 2 weeks I have switched to the green bar and it is quite a bit more challenging, the blue seems insane but I will likely move on to it after a few more weeks. Before using this product I used a lacrosse ball to roll my elbow and it took forever to stretch out the little muscles in my elbow. If you do the exercise as shown in the video, your elbow pain should start to diminish as mine did. I would recommend using the red bar when you first feel pain in your elbow and progress to the green bar if workouts of 3x15 reps start to become easy after a week or so.

I have to say I was a little skeptical, but to my surprise after 5 weeks of daily use I am 95% better. Amazing considering I had trouble opening jars, squeezing a golf club, or twisting a door knob. It was that bad for over a year. The first week of use, the pain trying to twist and extend my arm straight ( the exercise you do) with the bar was pretty painful, but I just pressed on through the pain. I gradually got better, but i was pretty sore in the elbow, DON"T QUIT, just stay the course and you will get better. I would highly recommend.

I have been fighting with extensor tendonitis for over a year. I tried everything from rest, to anti-inflamatory drugs to massage therapy with little relief. I saw this device advertised and decided to give it a try. It has been a real benefit in reducing my symptoms when used in conjunction with my massage therapy. For the price it is worth trying out.

Thera-Band Flexbar Hand Exerciser. After I broke my arm, the therapist had me using the red bar. This bar has helped me tremendously. I would recommend this for anyone trying to rebuild strength or movement. I also purchased the green bar and am pleased with the ability to use it now as well. Thera-band Flexbar Hand Exerciser - Tennis Elbow Relief Bar Green MediumThera-Flex Therapy Putty - 6 oz. I have used the yellow, green, and blue putty. They have been very good for strengthening my hand grip after having a plate put into my arm after I broke my arm. Both this and the FlexBar have been a major asset. Thera-Flex Therapy Putty - 6 oz - Green - Medium-Firm Resistance I highly recommend both the Thera-Flex putty and the Flexbar.

Thera-band has brought great relief from arthritis and muscle weakness due to stiffness. The Thera-band exercises in an every other day routine, two hand twists, both hands held out in front of shoulders, while twisting the band with one hand forward 30 reps, then back 30 reps, and on to the other hand for the same. Much of the arthritis has disappeared. Very satisfying.

My physical therapist recommended this for my arthritic elbow and because I play tennis. She said I could order these for myself, I did, and continue to use it. It is one of several resistance training tools I use.

At first sight I thought these therabands looked flimsy. I was wrong, they are made of a dense, highly elastic polymer. I bought the 15 lbs resistance band b/c I already use a grip strengthener. The 15 lbs resistance is almost more than I should've started with so, if you have weak wrists/stabilizer muscles I would start with the 10 lbs resistance or maybe even the 6 lbs. I take Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and grip strength is important so I bought the captians of crush hand gripper - which are great - but they only account for flexor work, theraband has a multiplicity of exercises. Here are some pros and cons:Pros:1) The bands are made of high elastic polymers2) They are easy to grip3) Easy to transport anywhere4) They target all areas of the hands, wrist, forearms, shoulders and even the thumbs!5) They do provide relief from tendonitis (tennis elbow)6) Include exercises in tensor, flexor, flexion, extension, abduction etc.7) Provide resistance in both directions.8) They target the small flexor muscles that traditional free weights cannot9) They provide dynamic resistance10) Well worth the priceCons:1) They could come with an instructional video b/c some of the exercises are hard to understand2) They could include - with each exercise - a description of what muscle group is targeted and how it can benefit the user i.e. relieves tendonitis, increase stability in the wrists, etc.Bottom Line:I would recommend this product to any one with or without therapy needs. Theraband boasts that it relieves tendonitis in the elbows but it also includes exercises to reduce it in the shoulders as well. Wrestlers, grapplers, swimmers, boxers, mma practitioners, baseball players, football players, tennis players, hockey players, lacrosse players and your average joe/jane will benefit - with proper use - from this product. I suggest you find exercises that benefit you and stick to a regular routine with proper nutrition for the highest level of benefits.

I had golfer's elbow for a over a year. It was painful doing normal activities and exercise, and even hurt at night from sleeping on it. I got a cortisone shot from an orthopedist, but the pain came back after a few months. The exercises that the orthopedist gave me were useless. I used the Flexbar to do the "reverse Tyler twist" (Google it and watch the video demonstrations on YouTube). I have done three sets of 15 reps a day for the last month, and the pain is about 70% to 80% gone! I am even back to doing lat pull-downs in the gym. The green (medium) bar was sufficiently stiff for me -- I am a 6 foot tall, 185 pound male.

I started using these several years ago after a hand injury required physical therapy. The PT recommended them highly at that time, and they did seem to help with therapy.Having also suffered from "mouse elbow" and other hand pains from extended computer usage, I noticed that those symptoms had also improved. So I kept using the Theraband and indeed the computer pains seem to be reduced. What I do is this: I keep one on my desk by every computer, and try to take a break every 15 minutes or so to exercise for 1-2 minutes with these bars. I'm not sure whether it's the bar itself, or more likely the combination of the bar with taking a break, but either way, it seems to help immensely to ward off hand, arm, wrist, and elbow pain from computer usage. Now I buy one for every desk.I'm using the green bars, which work well for my (male) hands to grip. Flexing them is not difficult but is firm enough to activate my arm muscles pretty well. For best effect, review the booklet that comes with it, and be sure to do exercises in various directions to work out more muscles. Flexing with my arms up and behind my head seems to work particularly well to stretch after computer usage.

I've been dealing with tennis elbow in my right arm on and off for years. Mostly from whitewater kayaking, drumming and mtn biking. This product seems to be helping. I've been using it for about a week and my elbow feels much better. I've tried all the traditional healing methods...ice, rest, advil for days, steroid shots, stretching, elevation etc. I recently had been dealing with it and seriously tried to rest my arm. I hadn't kayaked in 2 months, avoided working out at the gym. I even started brushing my teeth with my left hand and have really been avoiding use of my irritated right arm. Rest wasn't helping it, so i figured I'd try this product and truly think it's helping. I'd check out the youtube video to make sure you're using proper form and resistance. I use it a few times a day and hold the stretch for a few seconds with my arms outstretched in front of me. YMMV

After resting my arm for 2 weeks without getting any positive results, I did a little research and came across Thera-Band. I was skeptical if it was going to help with the excruciating pain I was having around my elbow. After doing the exercise for couple of days, my arm started to feel better. No longer was I waking up in the middle of the night due to pain and felt a huge improvement. I'm simply amazed how fast it worked. Highly recommended!

My husband and I both suffered with Tennis Elbow. Even cortizone shots did not help. I ordered the red bar for me and the green bar for my husband. We viewed the instructions for the Flex Bar on YouTube. After only 2 months of working ourselves up to 4 reps a day, I can honestely say we are totally pain free and the weakness in our arms has disappeared. This is the first time in 9 years that I have been pain free. We also recommend purchasing the "Band IT" elbow brace for those heavy chores that still MUST be done during everyday activities. It can prevent further damage and provides pain relief while working towards your recovery.

Seriously, I ordered the red bar and a band-it arm band. I wore the band but really didn't notice any improvement. Then the flexbar arrived. After 3 days of using it, my pain is 90% gone. I've had tennis elbow (really computer-mouse elbow) for over 6 months and in 3 days of using the Flexbar, it's so much better. Sometimes I feel no pain at all and then it returns at a much diminished level. (I wonder if it will go away completely. It's only been 3 days...) What's also amazing, is I had a wrist pain for months on the other hand (early arthritis characterized by a bump which might develop soon my doctor said) and that's better too. I don't know if I can attribute it to the bar but it's mighty coincidental.

First, I would like to say that I am a 20 year old male, who is pretty strong (I work out 2-3x a week). I thought the green bar would be enough to get a little bit of a strengthening exercise out of as I treated my elbow, but it really just isn't enough resistance. So if you're pretty strong and you're on the fence about which flexbar to get, I would upgrade to the blue one. I have had issues with tennis elbow for years and I could never seem to remedy it in anyway. When I saw this, I thought I would give it a try and the first day that I started using it, I felt better. There was way less pain and the popping that I had in my elbow went from being very obvious to being almost nonexistent. This tool really helps to minimize the pains and problems associated with tennis elbow, especially if you do some of the techniques they provide online and in the booklet that comes with it.

I wish more Drs. knew about this band! Would have saved me many months of pain. I developed tennis elbow at work. I tried 'resting it', but as i'm sure you all know, that's extremely hard to do. So after a few months of it not healing on its own I went to an orthopedist who gave me some hard core arthritis medication and told me to wear a wrist brace at night to sleep, as I was finding my elbow was in much pain when I woke up...most likely due to my wrist bending in many directions at night, pulling the ulnar nerve in various directions. So a month or two more go buy on this medication and with the brace at night, minimal improvement, if that. I was hesitant to go back to this Dr because he mentioned cortisone shots...which he said had their own risks. It was at that point I did more online research and came across the Thera-Band. I ordered the Red first (I am a relatively not-arm-strong woman), did the exercise shown in the pamphlet you get (and I watched videos online), then worked up to the green where I am now. Let me just say, my are feels SO MUCH BETTER! There is definite improvement in my tennis elbow. It has only been about 2 weeks! It has gone from feeling it almost constantly, to barely even noticing it. I now only feel it when I've done something strenuous with my arm, or if i'm typing for a while at an awkward angle. If you have tennis elbow you need to try this. It is cheaper than anything a Dr. could do for you, and probably cheaper than the Dr. co-pay itself (though you should always go see a dr. first to make sure tennis elbow is what you have, and not something more serious like a fracture). I'm telling you guys, get this and try it. It's up you to to do the exercises, but 30 seconds 3 times a day is nothing. I can't endorse this enough.

The effectiveness of this product is mind-boggling--> After suffering for some time with tennis elbow (and attempting to recover by cutting back on tennis :-( ), I purchased this product. I'm still dumbfounded that after using it for a grand total of <15 minutes on 2-3 occasions, I HAVEN"T SUFFERED FROM TENNIS ELBOW AGAIN! Another member of my local tennis group had an identical experience. And no, I'm not a stockholder.

I have had Tennis Elbow for 1 year. Tried the conventional treatments of stretching (PT), ice, heat, anti-inflamitories and even electro therapy. Spent big bucks on messages also. Pain was so bad I could not brush my teeth or turn a door knob. Arm was pretty much useless for any type of work. When I read about the TheraBand exercise I was skeptical but figured what was another couple of bucks down the drain...well...I wish someone would have shown me this rubber gizmo months ago. Two days of the specific Temnis Elbow exercise and 50% pain relief...4 days and 95% of pain gone. Grip strength is almost back to normal. Three sets of 15 repetitions a day (I did these all at the same time, not spread out through the day). Simply unbelievable! I would like to buy the folks that developed this exercise their beverage of choice if I ever meet them. Follow the instructions for Tennis Elbow that now come with the Flexbar and view the video on the TheraBand website (www.thera-band.com) or YouTube.I purchased the 25 lb blue Flexbar. I am 50 years old and an active do-it-yourself kinda guy, 6'2" and 200lbs. Not into flaky diets, UFO's, health food or alternative medical cures...but I can tell you the Flexbar worked wonders where months of "therapy" did nothing. For me, the blue Flexbar was the ticket, I think a lighter bar would not have worked as well (not provided enough resistance). The blue Flexbar is about 1&7/8" in diameter so if you have small hands you might go down a size/color. Arrived in a padded envelope, one day ahead of the scheduled delivery date. Made in the USA. Also doubles as a great sap/blackjack.

"Item as described. The Thera-band FlexBar arrived very quickly, it is a nice quality product and I started to using it right out of the box. I see that my elbow is getting better every day doing 15 repetitions of the resistance exercise, 3 or 4 times a day . I'll recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a pain relief and without stopping playing. Thanks!"

Tennis elbow? But I haven't played in years. In any case, I had elbow pain and a sudden decrease in my grip strength. After some research I learned about the Flexbar and thought I'd try it out. I'm a big guy but I'm smart enough to not have gone with the most resistance right off the bat. I bought the green bar and after just two days of using it I noticed a marked improvement. I'm not completely healed, of course, but I no longer have a nagging ache and my grip strength is returning. Works as advertised. I recommend it.
