Flaked out. There is a metal tang that contacts the battery and mine broke so this item was worthless to me. It was not resetting properly so I opened up the battery compartment to reseat the battery and when I did, the tang broke and that was the end of that. Had it a couple of days and tossed in the trash. Going with manual counter.

This item was received today. The counter was already on, couldn't shut if off nor did the button work to reset to 0. Strap is not long enough to go around the neck. Would not buy any products from this company.

Whoever designed this product had a very small brain in a very small head and made the strap just long enough to fit over their very small head containing their very small brain. The strap is not long enough for me to put over my head, and other people have mentioned this problem in their reviews. I decided I would replace the strap for a longer one by unscrewing the back of the device. When I screwed it back up, the device no longer worked. It's good for nothing now. As for those beeps that others praised, to me their are barely audible (or at least they were, before the device stopped working). In fact, I couldn't hear them at all unless I held the device up to my ear. Total waste of money and I can't be bothered sending it back. But really, that short strap is pretty baffling, makes you wonder what they were thinking, or not thinking.

Bought two of these for counting laps while running indoors during the winter at the local Wellness Center. The first one stopped beeping almost immediately and following the instructions to activate/deactivate the beeper did not resolve the issue. It still functions fine besides that, but the beep is important for me in that it gives me audible feedback that the lap button was pushed. The second one had a different issue almost immediately too. The unit would not respond to the button push to turn it on, often taking ten presses or so to finally see the LED. Once you got it turned on, it worked well until the last time I used it, including the beep when pushing the lap button. On lap 21 (of 50) on my last run, the LED just went blank. Despite pushing the power button repeatedly, it stayed off until I had finished my run and looked at it again in my truck as I was preparing to drive home. "21" read on the LED display. Sigh.My wife has a third one and I expect it to fail in some manner shortly as well. I'l probably just wind up getting one of those old-fashioned mechanical ones.
