This tent rolls up and is pretty lightweight and compact but once up has plenty of room inside for one + gear. I'm 6'4 tall and if I were to stretch out my head and feet could touch the two end poles. Hit those poles to hard and I'd image it'd come down on you in the middle of the night. Overall I'm very pleased though. For less than $30 bucks I think it did an excellent job.I'd agree with a lot of the other reviews though and will have to only rate it for 4 stars. We were camping in some pretty warm weather (80's) so I can't vouch for its waterproofness either. But if it got cold outside say down into the 40's condensation would be a real concern. Even with the door flaps and back window flap open I could feel the temperature raising once I climbed in. This tent simply doesn't breath very well. Waking up in a puddle of water from condensation isn't fun. But just to be clear, that didn't happen and there was no buildup in the tent at all. If the tent were to breath better I'd give it a 5 star rating for sure.

I like this but it could use a few improvements. I love the durable flame retardant fabric, but lets hope it never gets tested. I like how the bottom is a light tarp like material that bowls upward to shed water underneath instead of pooling against the tent. I also love the 'A' frame. I've always wanted an 'A' frame house but since I'm poor a tent will have to do. :]With this you are getting exactly what you pay for. It's easy to set up once you get the hang of it and set your lines for future setting up. But there is hardly any ventilation. Because it's such a cheap tent I can make a few adjustments, sew in a few more mesh windows to make it the perfect backpacking tent. I set it up in the backyard in the heat of of the day in Central Texas. It's hot outside and it was even hotter inside the tent once I get it set up so more ventilation is a MUST! It says it's a two person but it's the perfect size for one person and their backpacking gear while on the trail. Fitting two people in the tent would be a tight fit with little wriggle room, leaving no room for gear if you need to bring it in. I am a 5'2 female at around 120 and there is plenty of room for me and all my stuff. The total weight of the tent is not for lightweight backpacking but that too can be adjusted by using trekking poles instead of the heavy poles it comes with. I am even thinking of finding some of those snap together lightweight poles instead of using the cord lines to hold it up. We shall see.So in other words, if you buy this tent you are doing so as a starting point in making something that is more personalized. It does not come with a rain fly so if you want one you have to buy it separate or make your own. If you don't want to take the time and effort to make adjustments then I suggest spending a little more money to get something less DIY than this. I like working with my hands, so I am up for the challenge. I also got some waterproof\seam sealer to spray on when I am done because most reviews said there is a problem with condensation...which is due to very little ventilation.

This tent is a great starter tent if you are just getting in to hiking/camping like myself. For the money I don't think you can go wrong. As long as there is no rain in the forecast you will be fine. If you close all the flaps you can expect to collect lots of condensation on the inside of the tent. Being that it's an inexpensive tent it's not vented well when closed up like more expensive ones that have a rain fly and vented at the top. However if you keep all the flaps open it will be fine. This is definitely a one person tent unless both people are of normal size and you keep your gear elsewhere. I had a blow up sleeping pad and full size backpack in mine with plenty of room but again I was alone.Went camping in N. Georgia on May 18 and this was my experience:I set up my tent between two trees, ran a line between them and draped an 8x10 tarp over the tent. The tarp covered the entire tent from the top to the ground and had a few feet on each end of the tent. This basically gave me a front porch on the entrance so no rain could blow in. I also had a tarp under the bottom tucked just inside the diameter of the tent. Around 3 am it started raining and I mean buckets until 8 am. I had put water repellent and seam sealer on the tent shortly after buying it both from Wal-Mart. I had a small amount of dew like water on the end opposite of the opening due to rain blowing in sideways. However I had no water on the floor of my tent or running down the walls. This was due to the tarp covering the whole tent. This tent would not have held up to 5 hours of downpour without the tarp, I am convinced of that.Just bring a few tarps if expecting bad weather and you will be ok with this tent, for the money I am satisfied.

basic, basic, basic... love it! Im sure with seam seal and good waterproofing spray it'll do just fine. though you might wanna grab a 5x7 tarp for heavy rain.

its great tent for what it is. perfect for kids, 2 adults can sqeeze in but defently not ment for comfort. 6ft tall or under. its a just in case tent. great for emergency kits, if you every had to use one of those bright orange tube tents that typicaly comes with a kit. well you know its worthless as a shelter, this tent is a great replacment. as one said, no vents! im using mine as my gear tent so i have more room in main tent. can be rigged to attach to multi access tents with a little know how.

Of course this is a nice tent for the money - that's first. But it will keep the elements out and is very study and simple to use. You don't have to worry about the aluminum poles snapping or the thick tarp material leaking if it is wet outside. There are no frills though, no vestibule for cooking or storing gear. If you want cover for that - rig a tarp or something. The tent is for sleeping only and two is a tight fit, but that's okay if you are just sleeping. The weight of 4 pounds makes it a good backpacking tent as well. The corners of the tent must be staked down and guy lines must be used for the tent to work - so be ready for that. You might want to get nicer stakes if the ground is going to be a problem.
