This pencil is great! Marks on everything! I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. It's a bit annoying to try and pick it up by the eraser and it just pops off. I wish there was a screw-on cap over the eraser so I could protect it as needed.

Fantastic product-recommended by Ron Paulk. Highly recommend! Pencil sharpener in cap could be a little sharper but it works great in my cordless drill. I just ordered some more!

Didn't realize there's a sharpener on the other end of the eraser insert. Handy, but the blade takes very fine shavings so it's a lot of turns to get a point.

Not my favorite mechanical carpenter pencil only because if the weight but it is a great pencil and very worthy of 2nd place

great pencil found the sharpener under the cap nice surprise. The only issue I have is with the eraser, it pops out while working found it three times and then lost. Needs to have a snugger fit or some sort of compression fitting to hold in place.

This is just an old fashioned lead holder. It's only barely mechanical. Push the button and the lead falls out unless you're ready for it like with the oldies. The fat leads may be good for carpenters, etc., but they're fun for play: hang the blunt end out and express yourself!

I don't know what these reviewers are talking about...I just tried the eraser end every which way and it simply does not sharpen the pencil

I work in a commercial lumber yard/hardware store, and I must say that this is a really nice pencil. Works exactly as advertised! It is a logical extension of the carpenter pencil concept and I use it daily. I've even got my co-workers impressed with it and wanting one of their own. I give it 4 stars out of 5 because i feel there is room for improvement. Build quality is good, hand feel is good, and having an eraser is great. Main gripe is how loose the lead is when you depress the eraser end, it will fall out. I've accidentally tapped it on something and nearly lost the lead many times. Despite that I would still greatly recommend this pencil.
