Popped a plug on a 2001 V10, ordered this kit and within hours of it arriving was back up and running. Understand that you will want a long air gun to clear chips from the cylinder and ideally a borescope to check for remaining metal before assembly. This kit is the standard in the industry for a reason.... it simply works and fast.

Tool is very straight forward, I used it on a rebuild, heads off block. Follow directions, don't rush, it's a solid fix. Several YT channels with on/off block instructions.

Hubby purchased thru my account and it was scheduled to be delivered 1 week out. GREAT!! We needed it asap, so that was a bummer. Buuuuuut, the seller emailed me the next day and said he would overnight the package since he figured we might need it asap. Hubby was elated! All in all, it works like a gem. There are some videos out there where people piece together a kit with random pieces from autozone etc. Don't do it. Get this kit and you good to go in an hour. It's got everything you don't know you want and need for this job.

The first time the plug blew out (2011 CVPI, 4.6L V8), I repaired with a heli-coil, which lasted about a year, then blew out again. The Cal-Van insert system is not only easier to install, but I expect the repair to be permanent this time. Well worth the added expense.The reason I rated the instructions at 4 stars is because they are so small, I could hardly read them or see the pictures. There are excellent videos on YouTube that show how to install the inserts. FordTechMakuloco is highly recommended.

I was really discouraged when a plug shot out of my 2000 Expedition. It sounded like a machine gun was going off under my hood. I might have been able to avoid this issue if I had replaced the plugs on schedule (at 200K), but I was lazy. I have owned this this rig since new and it now has 250K miles on the odometer. This is the first major problem. This kit includes everything you'll need to repair a popped spark plug scenario for your modular Ford engine. In my case, it was a super easy to fix because it was a plug located near the front of the engine. A rear plug would be much more difficult because there's not enough room to drill and tap the hole (without removing the head or the engine).

By far the best and easiest way to fix your 2 valve triton!!! Stay away from the dorman kit! Had my 7 cylender fixed in 45 minutes start to finish.

I found nothing wrong with this but make sure you use JB Weld like it says in the directions otherwise you will blow the plug out. This worked great for me as I had the plug blow out on me twice and needed this to repair my expedition the first time factory plug blew out I used a different brand and used red loctite I will not use loctite on a head repair again.

I am 60 and have not worked in the automotive field in 30 years. When steps to have vales closed to clean aluminum metal shaving by blowing out cylinder are correctly performed, and locking lube used on incert to head used, this was easy and straight forward process. Worked to repair stripped threads easily. And that was on cylinder 3 toward back of head.
