This item is made from "Game Day Football" material. I misunderstood thinking it was an actual used football, but that's ok it isn't. This is definitely "costume" jewlery and NOT a high dollar item. A great stocking stuffer if you need an idea.Got it for my son who is in Jr. High with the Jaguar team mascot.He wears it every day and all his friends ask where he got it. His response is his mom got it for him "'cuz she's cool like that."I'd say that's a WIN!The closure is a football shaped charm and a piece of thin black elastic, so be careful not to pull that out. (That is my reason for 4 stars and not 5).Sizing states OSFA, but if you have a very thick neck it might fit more like a choker and less like a necklace. The center charm on my son lays below the hollow of the throat.I am hoping it will soften up with use since the shape is very stiff, but if he loves it and wears it then that's all I care about.
