This hat holds it's shape well. Even the velcro strap adjuster doesn't grab my sweatshirt hood which I really like because most hat's I have to cut some velcro off so that doesn't happen. I give this hat high ratings. Not so sure about how giftable it is but I would be happy if someone bought me this hat
