I think he pushes it off the rest of his less nutritious bird seed mix, but the vet said it's good for him so I spend extra just in case he accidentally eats some.

I have a parrot who was brought up on Harrison's food. But I now mix in other pelleted food, along with nuts and people food. That's because she puts much of the Harrison's into her water, rather than eating it. And over the years, the cost of Harrison's has gone up. It's now $10 a pound. And a good portion of it goes into her water. I'm on a fixed income and have four birds, and $5 per pound is just too much.

This is a great product and the fine pellets are the only pellets my budgies will eat, as any other pellets are too large for their tiny beaks. However, these price is ridiculously expensive...way overpriced. Hence, I knocked off a star due to the price! More manufacturers need to start making the fine pellets for the smaller birds which would get the price down somewhat.
