STIFF, like the material of ribbons we use for gift packaging. When you make a bow on your shoes with these, they will stiffly stay up, not draping on the shoes. They stick out straight up/sideways, looking weird. I wanted my shoelaces to be more like cloth, so they would fall when tied into a bow.
