It's definitely a box. It works as expected, though a bit small for documents. Have not burned my house down to test it, but I'm sure it does what it's supposed to.

But good insurance to protect important things, that fit, that may get stole if someone were to break in. It is heavy so some may need to be careful.

This product is well made and sturdy. My only draw back was how heavy it was for a older person to lift.

The handle is made of plastic so not made a metal Freddy would break off.

Dropped it and it dented from small fall, this doesn't offer security like a safe it's just fire and water safe

Needed another, larger firebox. I should have paid attention to the specs, but dang this is heavy and the handle is a little flimsy. I don't know how long it will last as the box is moved around.

It's made well but very heavy. Inside was smaller than I expected buty fault for not literally taking a tape measure out to check for myself. The quality is excellent. I needed something deeper.

Standard-size manilla folders won't fit into it, so I immediately returned it. The quality of the product seemed good.

I left off one star for sturdiness because the handle feels like it may break someday (somewhat light for how heavy the chest is in my opinion). My only other complaint is that you can't lay letter-size documents flat inside the chest. While the interior dimension says it's 8.5, I believe it's not able to accommodate letter-size documents, possibly because of the rounded corners. Otherwise, I think it's a reasonable price for a chest that is rated to last up to an hour in a fire. Most other chests (even ones offered by the same company) are only rated for up to 30 minutes.

4 stars only because the handle feels like it could snap under the load of this very heavy safe.It's a nice safe, and the latch to open it is very nice and easy to open.

I don't like how dirty it is. Tried cleaning and no luck. I broke the plastic handle carrying it to my bedroom closet

overall is good, it fits 8.5 normal size document, however, my document has a clip on the edge so it makes my stack of the document to be about 8.75. I have to bend it down to get it fit. Another issue I think that it could have better is to make the handle stronger. every time I carry this it and I feel like the handle is about to break off.

Heavy, and sturdy, but 2 main flaws that I noticed... lock is easily picked, and the latch is not strong and would be easy to break. Other than that it is good. The weight is a good deterrent from taking it, and the walls themselves seem thick and sturdy, overall good for the price.(Edit... Realized this is a fire safe... Ya know... To protect things from fire... I personally haven't thrown it I to a fire to test it's flame resistance, but it would probably protect what's in it from fire...)
