I love this for pull-ups and farmers' carry in particular. Not too messy but helps with grip more than chalk.

My fingers have been getting quite cold during this years slowpitch softball fall league, making throwing the ball a problem at times haha... this towel has the perfect level of tacky-ness for my needs. Was 45 degrees out tonight, perfect test for it. Gives just enough grip on the ball, but doesn't leave a crazy amount of residue on the hands.EDIT: Got down into the 30's for my game last night, and again, the stickyness came in handy once the feeling started to go in the fingers. I was playing catcher, so had my hand on the ball plenty during the game. Grab the towel for a few seconds before every inning and I was good to go.
