The girls love this accessory to their play stable. And it just adds to their creativity of horse land stories. Now they can transport them to shows and other events.

My son is obsessed with horses so I thought this would be a great gift for him. He loved it. These horses now come with us everywhere, grocery shopping, the school pick up line, the doctors office.

First off the 3 year old I bought this for LOVES it. The stable is made of very light wood. The issue I had was the quality of the horse coloration. They are plastic and the markings on the highly figured horses are pretty bad/unnatural. I was expecting more from this maker. But the receiver loves it nonetheless. She had no such expectations. :)

Horses lack quality detail and build. Leg shapes make it hard to get them to stand up on their own. One was missing an ear straight from the box.

Overall this is fun for your little horse lover! It is smaller than I expected for the money. It almost has a vintage look to it, I think if people see it they'll think it has been passed down from when I was a child. The paint on some of the horses is already wearing off after one day of play. I am a big fan of Melissa and Doug products and this will not keep me from purchasing more of their things, but this is one of the weaker products.

All the horses have a problem with their legs causing them not to stand up for extended time. Very frustrating for my 2 year old grandson. His favorite Christmas present, so very annoying.

It's a nice durable toy for horse lovers. Helped my son learn the breeds. I wish the front opened to so you could take the horses out the front, or out them in backwards. Also, it's kind of heavy and I'm always worried my three year old is going to drop the barn on his toes.
