Seemed very firm, but I am 66 and will need some work with it under a professional's guidance. I would have liked to have some printed exercises with the roller.

The roller is great, I'm very happy with it but I would have actually gotten an even firmer model if I knew how to find one. I first heard about these from my DO and then took some classes using them at my gym, where they have choice of three: this kind, one that's a bit firmer (my fave), and a knobby model (am i crazy for loving it..)I just want to note that the product had one flaw- there was a slim, deep cut in the material, not at the place where the two halves are joined but as though someone stuck a knife in it or something. This doesn't affect the use so I didn't want to bother sending it back, I had already recycled the box and it would've been more trouble and expense than it was worth to replace over that minor issue.

My body (back in particular) is quite sore from fibromyalgia - I was quite anxious to find something that would relieve the pain. I am pleased with the product so far. I am being cautious with it's use until I complete reading the book. The roller is firm but it certainly is meeting my needs at the moment.

I was introduced to rolling just a few weeks ago, and i am a convert.I purchased this roller before I purchased the soft pink roller. I have found that I prefer this roller for rolling my lower extremities and the pink for neck and torso. I can increase or decrease the amount of compression (pain/discomfort) just by how I position myself on the roller. This roller is firm, with minimal 'give'. I am not a skinny-Minnie. I actually like the marble coloring. It looks less gym-like.I use my rollers before my yoga practice, and they have aided me in my forward folds exponentially.

I wanted to try a foam roller. I'd read the reviews and thought that the "green marble" roller would be the best for what I wanted it for. It was delivered so quickly that it wouldn't have been worth it for me to have gone to two or three sporting goods stores to see what they had. I found that even after having read the reviews and feeling certain that I'd chosen the right firmness, that it was too firm for my use and I needed to return it. The roller seemed to be of excellent quality, light weight and very firm for my weight of 124 pounds. If you feel that you'd like a nice firm roller then this one should suit your needs.

My chiropractors recommend it, and I must tell you how thankful I'm. If you want to save your co pay or chiropractors visits, buy this product, Search internet or youtube to how to use it and thats it. In few days, you every body part will be in perfect aligment and no pain.

The reason I bought the roller was to help with stretching my lower back. This was exactly what I needed. The roller is soft and firm at the same time. It holds up to repeated full body weight lying on the roller. I would recommend this product to anyone that deals with lack of flexibility or tight muscles.

Just as described! Great product - I'm still learning how to use it most effectively, but I'm impressed thus far.

After using a roller at my physical therapist, I decided to get one for home because I loved the one she had. I probably should have gotten the exact one she had there, but I tried to save a bit on money by buying this one. It is still a decent roller and has held up well, but it's a bit too firm for me. It hurts my tailbone at first when I lay on it.

This roller is better because it's solid and will not collapse. This is an important feature because hollow rollers just don't hold over time.

I've had this foam roller for awhile now and its by far the best I've had. It hasn't lost its form at all with almost daily use from a 185lb person!

I love this roller. I never thought I'd buy something like this, but I tried it at the gym and it's amazing how it opens up my backbone and hips. Feels so great! I tried different ones at the gym, but I really liked this one - not cheap styrofoam, firm with a little softness. I'm a huge fan! Only slight negative - it did have a little toxic smell - but I rinsed it with the hose and left it on the back porch a couple days in the sun and it's fine for me now.

Foam roller is made out of a high density material that doesn't become deformed after repeated use. I use it 4x a week for the past 2 months and it hasn't shown any wear or tear. Overall highly recommended.

This roller is very firm. When my IT band is inflamed I can't lie with my full weight on it because it's too painful but I can still use it against the wall. It's also great for my back.

I wish the roll would be just a bit softer. I can see that it will last a long time and it is well constructed. For someone who is heavier or has been using them a long time, it might suit them better.

I have issue with my L4-L5 lumber spine or some folks say herniated disc. This a great roller if you have back problem. I use this roll religiously because I can not go to my physical therapist everyday. For the beginners I would advice to get the half roll for the same size and the graduate to this roll. OPTP roll is actually use by majority of the Physical Therapist and Chiropractors. This is great toll for in house exercise but I would advice to get exercise document by your therapist before you start.
