Solid bar, but one side the knurls are tougher than other side... Makes the bar feel slippery on one side compared to the other. We'll see about an exchange. Otherwise good welds and smooth rotation.<br /><br />Update: gave another star for replacement bar. Knurled are good and match. There is some slop on the swivel, but a teflon shim should fix that
