By all measurements and specs this handle SHOULD have fit the old head. But, it really needed to be sanded first in order to seat. The head wouldn't seat well next to the un-tapered portion of the handle Whacking the handle to get the seat better just ended up splintering off a chunk. So, clearly the taper or neck size of the handle didn't match. So, just a heads up... if the dry fit doesn't look like its going to work, don't force it. Watch some videos first so you know what a proper fit is and sand down the taper if it won't get a good fit. I was in a rush and thought a little braun would fix it. It didn't. It broke it.

Handle was a little large for the hole in the hammer head. It is a very old hammer head so I can accept that it would need a minor adjustment. Very good handle. Thank you.

I liked that the product was as described and was the proper size for my hammer head. It came with a wood wedge and two steel wedges.

Great value for the money. I used it to replace an old cracked handle on my 3lb hammer. It took very minor alterations to fit it correctly to the head. The included wedges were perfect to finish the job off.Personally I did not like how the finish felt in my hand. I sanded it off and used linseed oil to finish. This setup should last me another 15 years.
