The mini USB side of my cable looks like it had been crimped too tightly when the cable was made, and so the connector was bent out of shape and was too narrow in the center to plug into the DVD drive. I inserted the end of a pair of scissors into the opening and bent the connector back into more or less the right shape. This worked, but it was very easy to bend the metal, so it is obviously not very sturdy. And the cable itself also seems pretty flimsy. Since it was fairly inexpensive and I do not plan to be plugging and unplugging it very often at all, more or less leaving it stationary where it is now, I suspect it will work ok for my needs. But as others have said, if you need it for mobile use or as a charger that will be plugged and unplugged often, I suggest finding another option.

When you need a Mini-USB to USB-C cable, there aren't a lot of options. This was one of the better ones. The only problem is, it doesn't feel very durable. I don't think I'd want to use this cable for a device I needed to connect/disconnect frequently while traveling. It's on the thin side, and the connectors don't have much in the way of strain relief....But if you were using a device that doesn't get moved much, like say an external hard drive or keyboard that stays on your desk most of the time, it'll work just fine.

Sadly doesn't work for my mini usb microphone but is a high quality cable to charge things! Doesn't work with Blue Yeti

Decent product for the price

Don't get me wrong, this cable is good, just not great. The material seems sort of cheap and the inner lining wore out after about 3 days. But it worked for me for about 4 months, which I guess isn't that bad. Capitalism, am I right? Anyways buy it, it's cheap, reliable and you can just get another one if it wears down quickly, that's just like, how capitalism works I guess. I dunno I liked it.
