This is just like the one I was issued in the US Army. It works! Nice and warm! It's more of a sweat pants kind of weave rather than a fluffy fleece, but I feel the tighter weaving blocks wind better.

I work for a food distribution company and work in a freezer 60+ hours a week at -10 degrees and i love it after the first night polar fleece is the only thing I've found to keep the cold and possible frostbite away and it's so solf

Hmm I wonder what the bad reviews are prompted by. Perhaps they live in a frozen wasteland? I purchased this back when there was a cold front in the state. So this is absolutely warm enough for 'California Cold' down to 30 degrees F. I purchased this along with the smart-wool glove liners and the tactical fleece watch cap. This combination makes it toasty warm. Absolutely zero problems. Great for your base layer while camping. For those of you that do not know what to get for your base layer for warmth, I would add heat sleeves, glove liners, cap, wicking shirt & pants, wool socks and this neck warmer. You will never get cold.<br />-Trav

This is sooo warm and comfy, I got this during the winter time and my neck and face were never cold. Never had protection from the freezing winds and snow like this before, and Upstate New Yorkers like myself need things like this in our lives, I'd suggest this product to anyone, and I plan on getting more in the future!

This is my go to for cold weather. This thing is WARM, its snug without strangling, keeping the cold air, snow, off your neck and still not constricting.
