Since it's aluminum it's a little soft. Mine was slightly out of shape but close enough. Good enough for occasional or emergency use.

Love the cup almost 5 . Ok let me start with the bad. 1. The handles are a bit short so you can feel the het from the cup. 2. It was about 1/5mm to big but a quick squeeze with my bottle in the cup fixed it. 3. I would have rather seen the handles put on with a spot weld instead of using rivets but they do hold tight. Now for the good Other than the other 3 down sides i love it

This canteen cup has seen all sorts of abuse and it has held up very well. It is formed perfectly to fit the original military canteen and the handles are very well made. I've heated up soup and all sorts of hot drinks with it, the aluminum is thick enough to not bend and provide a safe and enjoyable time out in the wild. It fits perfectly inside the military canteen pouch, you would never know its not the original issue. Once it's inside the military pouch with canteen inside, you can't see any bulging on the outside because it fits perfectly.
