This is a great product for the price, however, I was concerned about the type of knot used to hold the bag, rescue handle and flotation insert. I pulled on the rope handle at the bottom of the throw bag as hard as I could while securing the rescuer end of the rope under my foot. I pulled hard for 8-10 seconds and the knot slipped and released! This could have a deadly consequence in a fast water rescue where the pulling force of the victim is substantial. A simple do-it-yourself fix made this a safe rescue device. The fix involves turning the bag inside-out, untying the knot, and retying with the tried-and-true rock climbers 34;figure 8 follow through34;. This knot will not release under stress. I would recommend to the manufacturer that the 34;figure 8 follow through34; knot should be tied at the factory in order to avoid liability for an unsafe knot. This product would get 5-stars if it had been received with the proper tie-in knot in the first place. As with all rescue professionals, you should inspect the rope and throw bag for cuts, tears, properly secured knots other defects before use. Be safe, always inspect your life saving equipment.
