I received the box without two pieces. I didn't try to return it, so I'm not complaining about this. What I don't like is that one animal picture corresponds to the number of dots on the other side. Ones you learn it you know which piece to draw. Might not be an issue for little kids, but not for adults.

Very well made dominoes. Purchased for my 2 year old granddaughter who enjoyed matching the barnyard animals. The 34;traditional dots34; on the flip side will ensure that the game will be played long after she's outgrown the animal side. Not sure why this was rated suitable for 12mos, however. My granddaughter is very bright, with above average skills but she had difficulty with the game rules as written. If the idea is that a 12 month old could begin by simplymatching the images, there should be modified game rules for younger children.
