I’m not a professional player, but it sounds much better than the lower priced one I had been using. I okay through a mic , but volume is fine without it also. I’m sure real players will buy a more expensive one, but this works well for me.

So, the harmonica itself is great. Tone is nice, it's well made in Germany. It's the Hohner that everyone talks about. The star that I took off is because of the necklace that's included with this bundle. The little harmonica on it is nearly useless and it has Made in China emblazoned on it, actually etched into the metal. I'm glad that the bundle didn't cost anymore than just buying the harp on it's own, because that mini-harmonica is going in the garbage. Disappointing that they went that route, but at least the main harp is a good one.

On a whim, I bought a harmonica from Cracker Barrel to fool around with while on the highway. Eventually, I wanted to upgrade, did some research and landed on this one. WHAT A DIFFERENCE in volume! The Special 20 seams easier to blow through and much louder. I'm really enjoying my purchase and plan to buy a neck brace when my wife isn't looking.Cons- sharp corners are rough on the hands, seams like an easy fix, Hohner.
