Bought to replace the temperature control on an indirect water heater and does exactly what you tell it.Instructions are fine and the basic menu options allow you to set everything most would ever need.Relays may be cheap - not sure how much load I would trust them with - mine controls a separate pump controller so sees not load and will hopefully last.

Was looking around at units with a plug and receptacle, but ended up buying this one without realizing it didn't have one. If you know that you want to hard wire it, then this is the unit for you. Otherwise, it has a 1/2 ko for you to do something with. I used an NM-style cable clamp and hacked a flat molded extension cord. Not exactly UL compliant, but I am satisfied it's safe enough. In the long run I may nipple it into a junction box and mount it to enable/disable a duplex receptacle.Note that while this unit can do heating or cooling, you have to pick one or the other.Note that while the unit looks like it can accept 240V control power, it only appears to have a single relay, so it's not proper for switching two hot legs (and I strongly recommend against it). Perhaps this is useful for countries with 220V or 230V to ground single phase. It lets you set the on and off setpoints individually, which is nice. It also has a setting for a restart delay, which can be set from 1 to 12 minutes. (Delay protects your compressor equipment from hot starts.)

This says it works for heat but I set the on at 100 deg and off at 130 will not shut off after it drops below on set temp it will keep running.

The instructions provided are not very clear on setting up the controller, but once you get it figured out it works great. I used this to turn a stand up freezer into a refrigerator for my backyard shop. It holds at a steady 38 degrees in a non-insulated metal building. Youtube is your friend when trying to set it up.

Purchased it to control a submerged heat tape in a workshop floor drain. The pipe used to freeze when the weather hit below 20F.The device is really universal. It has an extendable remote temperature probe to control on/off set points that are fully programmable. Can be used for heat or cooling (but NOT both- it only has one relay). The temperature probe is not submersible but it is mildly splash resistant if mounted in the correct orientation.Display shows the current probe temperature. Units (Celsius vs Faranheit), high/low activation temps, anti cycling, delta variants, etc all fairly easily programmed.Conduit knockout is only through the bottom, not sides or top. Terminal screws for connections, and space is limited. Unlikely to fit a single wirenut even if you had to.I would immediately buy another for the next project.
