I liked this product because the heater it replaced was about tp fail. It lit quickl and I didn't have to wait and hope the pilot light didn't turn off like the previous one. What I don't like about it is the propane bottle is exposed.

I bought Mr. Heater's buddy heater because when we are RVing we don't always have an electric hookup. Also there is a chance the electricity can go out when we do. I also bought the longer hose attachment and propane filter that hooks on to the Buddy heater and connects to our 5 gallon propane tank. Its a great option because the small 1lb propane bottles run out after just a few hours. Be careful to leave windows and ceiling fans slightly open so you get plenty of air if using inside.

If you use only 1lb bottle, it's 5/5 stars. If you use 20lb bottle without regulator it won't work if bottle is more than 1/2 turn open. Haven't come across any public docs on this issue. But just went to campout where 12 other dads had similar model and we tested the 20lb bottle with Mr heater hose and similar issues occurred with flame outs inn15-60'seconds. So you need to mount up regulators.

I got a Mr Heater about a month ago.. you have to get the Mr heater hose otherwise other hoses will gum it up and make it not light.. it doesn't gum up with the 1 lb green propane bottles because I found out .. I put it on a 20 lb propane tank and it wouldn't stay lit sometimes.. if it gums up I found out that you can put a 1 lb green propane bottle in instead of and it will burn it off after about a half hour and then it's usually okay but it's still comes up sometimes.. I noticed that it burns cleaner with the 1 lb bottles because they are considered cleaner propane but when you hook it up to a 20 lb propane tank, which I learned is called Dirty fuel, it comes up and the fumes get bad at times.. my throat got hoarse for days and I hope it clears up.... then I find out they recommend a fuel filter so I get one of those online.. it arrives with very little instructions as so many products do these days and I find out that the fuel filter contains lead and Lead contaminants well gee isn't that helpful?? They're going to kill us with their toxic crap one way or another..So I put on the fuel filter and I noticed at the bottom there's a needle type thing that you would put into the 20 lb propane tank hose but that little needle thing has a clear plastic covering on it that does not look like there is a little hole at the bottom of it so that the propane gas can get through into your 20 lb propane tank hose so I don't know whether I take it off or not and of course they're closed in customer service department..... so be aware of all these things folks... if I could find a good clean heater with electric lighter that would go into a 20 lb propane tank I would ditch this Mr Heater in a heartbeat and get the good one... I definitely would not use Mr Heater in a small space my voice is still hoarse..If I can get this fuel filter to work and my voice clears up I may keep it but I'm still looking for a good clean good quality medium size heater

Incredible output for indoor use. Easy to operate with one pound propane canister. Prices for Coleman canisters vary wildly but Walmart seems to have the best price for about $5. Expected run time is around 6 hours on low but I have not seen that result. I'm getting 4-5 hours on low which still provides an incredible amount of heat for such a small unit. There is almost no noticeable exhaust operating in my two car garage. Wonderful product that seems safe to operate indoors. Some easy maintenance (cleaning) is required periodically.

Handy little heater - I wish it would run a little longer on a cannister - but it is great and easy to use - I like that it is indoor safe. I would recommend it.
