Even the famed Japanese watch maker has succumbed to doing business with their centuries old arch enemy, China. It loses a minute a week and you would be wise to remove it when washing your hands.

It's smaller than I liked, but fits really well. The pilot-inspired dial and hands really add to the unique look to the watch. It can be worn as an everyday watch or occasionally. The crown is super small to work with and there are some things to keep in mind when setting the time. The power reserve is very low and it can lose power within a few hours of not wearing it. You also can not wind this manually, so wearing it to get that energy back in the mainspring will be done more often than not. There are better entries with similar styles, but none at the price point this comes in. It would make a great daily wear, gift, or first-time automatic. At the price per quality/features, this one comes in too strong to pass up. However, if you are looking for a long-lasting automatic with a large power reserve you may want to save and get another Seiko that can fit the need better.

I was looking for a daily watch after a long time not wearing a watch. My last watch was a first gen Apple Watch I tried two Seiko 5 and decided for a Hamilton Khaki Auto instead. This small Seiko 5 is almost perfect, but the strap is itchy, the blasted finish doesn't cover the whole case and the dial is not the most practical. Accuracy was ok at -6 secs a day, I'm sure it can be better tuned. Amazing to see such a nice movement at such an affordable price.Keep in mind that these watches are gray market and the ones I got were like new but clearly “open box”. Warranty is also unlikely to be honored by Seiko, check the policy as these are not authorized resellers.

Estaba muy contento con el reloj, ya puesto, la cartula fue un poco pequea para la mueca de mi esposo , pero al final eso fue error mo. Aparte a l le gusto y estaba contento con su reloj automtico, pero a los pocos meses empez a perder segundos luego minutos, horas, hasta que dej de funcionar del todo. Muy decepcionados de la calidad.

I love this watch, wearing it ever since it delivered. But it's a small watch. For big guys like me, it might be too noticeable at first but you get used to it.

Nice watch. Just what I was expecting. I expect I will wear it often.I did not see anywhere on the page that said this was made in China, but there was a peal off sticker on the back saying Made in China. If it keeps running that's fine, but I avoided other similar watches made in China before I bought this one.

Good price value ratio.Perfect size; 37mm is very lightweight and comfortable, not too bulky, just like a vintage watch.Outer dial with minutes marking makes sensing and telling time very easy.Only two minor complaints are: Water resistance and watch band. Water resistance is ok for daily wear, but cannot go swimming. Original watch band is ok, but would recommend getting a new band; leather or silicone.

After purchasing this Seiko, my collection is now conformed of 3 watches, a Rolex date just 16233 and two automatic Seikos. I love them all equally!

After watching many YouTube videos on affordable, first mechanical watches to get, this one caught my eye. It's been a great daily watch, and takes on multiple looks going between the nato strap it came with and the leather strap in the picture I've attached. It keeps time pretty well (especially after making a couple adjustments), averaging about /- 15s a day. The only thing that bothers me is the slightly lose bearing which makes a rattle noise. I've made sure that the rotor it tightened and the problem persisted. I sent it back and the new one had the same issue. You can kind of shut out the little noise and get used to it. Just appreciate the affordable, nice looking little mechanical timekeeper which costs very little in comparison to others!

Pros for this piece would be the font they chose gives this really good legibility, the build of the watch feels super sturdy, size is perfect in my opinion for a medium sized wrist, and the placement of the dial is a big plus as is doesn't dig into your wrist at certain angles.Cons will include the strap. The strap on this watch is pretty good if you're not paying full price. Putting the watch on for the first time you immediately feel the glue touch and scratch against your skin. A quick fix for that is a nail filer on the heavily glued parts to smooth it out or completely replace it with a blueshark nato strap. The canvas frays and wears very quickly so it's up to the wearer. A smaller detail that was more a con for me was shiney underside. The brushed Steele is great looking and the unbrushed inside feels off but again, a small detail.I highly recommend this as a first Automatic and suggest waiting for a solid deal.

I bought this watch in 2009 (spent $85 then), 13 years later and I still wear it almost every weekend with satisfaction. Its a total work horse watch. I wear it mostly on the weekends or on trips where we're gonna be spending a lot of time out doors; in the woods, on the beach, etc. I've run with it, swam in the lake with it, worked on the house with it. I outfitted it with a Bond watch strap and I get compliments on it all the time. I wish it had some sort of illumination factor for the dial. The dial will glow in the dark for a bit if its been exposed to enough light prior to it becoming dark but its not a reliable feature. Still, total worth it watch.

This watch is excellent for every day use. Thin and light enough to go unnoticed while wearing all day and night. Seiko's Diashock antivibration is implemented with Seiko's amazing in-house 7S26 automatic movement for this watch. This caliber movement has been tried and tested. It lasts. Pros: Date and day. Easy to read, great lume. Worth every penny. Cons: none. The watch strap is excellent. After a week it's much softer and very durable for the long run.
